Disclaimer:  I do not own any of the original characters from the Robin Hood series from BBC.  I do own Jessica Lyn, Katie and any characters I make up as I go along with this story.  This is my second story I am writing on FF.net I am writing another story called Beauty of the Heart based on the 1980's series Beauty and the beast.  Any flames will be used to make popcorn.

Chapter 1- A Typical Day Not So Typical.

It was a nice sunny day in spring in Westerville, Ohio, a perfect day for 24-year-old Jessica Lyn to take a walk in the park with her golden retriever and guide dog Katie.  Jessica loves taking walks and being blind since 13 years old – due to a tragic house fire - she was limited to what she could do.  Besides, Jessica loved being active, she hated sitting around the house, she always had to be doing something.  She is not the kind of person who lets her disability get in her way.  Jessica works at the Ohio State School for the blind as a librarian and she was also finishing her teaching degree.  She also helps people who are blind like her.  It was her way of coping with being blind.

It is Jessica's day off and she decided to go on a nature walk with Katie.   Jessica crawled out of bed and went into the bathroom to take a shower.  Her first instinct was took go to the mirror. It was funny how Jessica did that even though she was blind.  Her friends who were not blind told her what she looked like.  Jessica was slim, curvy and not really well endowed.  She had light brown hair and honey brown eyes.  Smiling she started her daily routine.  It was 10:00am and she was ready to go.  She got her walking stick, her backpack with provisions for herself as well as her dog, her cell phone and Katie.  She was off to the park.  Luckily her apartment was located right near the park so she didn't have to go very far.

A warm breeze swept across Jessica's face.  "There's going to be a thunderstorm." Jessica said to herself.   But it didn't matter, she loved thunderstorms.  Ever since she was a child she thought thunderstorms was god's way of talking to her. Jessica and Katie walked into the main area of the park, Tree Haven Park .  She then walked to the part of the park where the trail entrance was.  Jessica knew this park well.  She plugged in her Ipod and started to walk.  She then smelled a familiar scent. It was her friend Kellie.

Kellie spoke first. "Hey Jessica."  Kellie said in a cheerful tone.  Kellie squatted down. "Hey Katie." Kellie said in a playful tone.  Katie responded by licking her in the face. "Awwwww – Katie! Thanks." Kellie said. Kellie then turned her attention towards Eva.  “Jessica are you coming to crash tonight?"  Kellie said. Crash was a local pub that Jessica and her friends went to.

"Yes I am." Jessica responded.

"Good because you know that guy I told you about?  Derek. “Kellie said with a mysterious tone.

"Yes." Jessica said with an irritated tone.

"Well, he is going to be there and he really wants to meet you." Kellie said happily.

"Kellie, I am not sure if I want to meet him. I am still trying to get on with my latest heartbreak. Plus, men are not keen on women who are blind; it makes them want to do things."  Jessica said sarcastically.

Kellie scoffed and replied, "Ok, Jessica is that way just remember he could be the one for you and you are passing it up."  Kellie said angrily.

"Kellie, if it is gods will then Derek and I will meet; if not then it's not meant to be."  Jessica said firmly.  With that Jessica and Katie walked off leaving an angry Kellie behind.

'Oh, that Kellie makes me so angry sometimes.' Jessica thought.  'She thinks I need a man. I will find the one for me someday.'  Her thoughts were then interrupted by a loud bang.  Katie started to get nervous and tried to go back.  Jessica bent down and tried to calm Katie down. "Shhhhhhh sweetie its ok everything's going to be fine."  Jessica said soothingly.  Jessica then got up and started to feel dizzy. She felt a huge rush of wind around her.   This only caused her to get even dizzier and it was harder for her to keep steady.   Being blind she couldn't see what the commotion was all about.  She then started to feel sick which caused her to faint.  The last sound she heard was Katie's barking which sounded like she was in a tunnel that made the barking echo.

Dear Journal,

I am getting the hang of this live journal thing and it has only been a day since I joined. That makes me so happy that I am not a complete idiot when it comes to computers.  Anyways I am so annoyed right now because of America and Cheap Clothes.

So I go into Target to go shopping for Easter Sunday. What I saw was horrible.  The clothes were ugly and cheap. There spring line SUCKS!  The clothes were so flimsy and cheap it was like going to a dollar store.  Mind you, I like going to the dollar store because you never know what you are going to get but COME ON!!!! Target usually has good clothes, what’s going on with them? Better yet what is going on with America?

Here is my opinion.  Are stupid president is spending too much money on a war that is frivolous.  I support the soldiers 100% but I do not support the cause.  Bush did what he needed to do now it’s his own personal vendetta.  It’s ruining this country. I know what does this have to do with clothes?  Nothing I am comparing politics with fashion.  What Fashion? It is like they went through last years box and brought up the stuff that no one would buy.  Maybe I have a bad fashion sense this year?   I know one thing that is true.  This war is killing this country. America is going to the dogs and I know we are not the only country who is suffering.  But still.  I have a family member who was on Social Security Disability.  They cut this family off because of some stupid technical reasons.  The point is there is no money to give the disabled.  Not even enough money to keep America running.  So that is my political opinion.
